Thai Nguyen was born in Saigon, Vietnam in 1964. His father was a high ranking officer working for the American government in South Vietnam. So, when the democracy of S. Vietnam fell to the communists party in the Summer of 1975, His family left their home and all their extended family and fled to the United States where they settled in Arlington, Texas.

Thai graduated from The Art Institute of Dallas in 1986 and has had a very successful career in Commercial Art for over two decades as an Sr. Art Director in advertising/marketing and design agencies, while quietly practicing his true love for fine art painting. In 2018, he decided to pursue his passion for fine art full time. He now works out of and resides in St. Louis, Missouri.
